Finished Maple/Ipe
« on: May 14, 2009, 12:12:38 am »
Heyall,

I'm enjoyed this one, but it is time to send it off to Colorado to my cousin as was promised when I started it.  This is the second Maple backed Ipe I've made, this with Ipe nocks built up.  This D bow (or is it C) still not sure after the post the other day...is 62" ntn and is pulling 48lbs.@27".  At center it is 7/8" tapering down to 3/8" width and just over a 1/2" in height at center.  It took 1.5" set after shooting it about 100 shots but still whips an arrow.  It is quick, lite, and nearly silent with almost no vibration even without string silencers.  I wrapped artificial sinew just to break up the profile.  Named "Kah-Lo" Rob's Bow in Colorado.  Thanks for lookin'.

Very nice!

Thanks guys - appreciate it.  Pappy, wished I could have made it to the classic but just couldn't swing it.  Next year!
