I also use shims in my forms, but I have found with 90 degree twist they are hard to get in a form,, I also have a form that is cut on a angle to twist limb in the opposite direction, I will post photo later

here is a photo of a de propellar bow form, each limb is angled different so I can take prop out either way with a flat spot at the riser, either way I like to start with the pipe wrench, then do the final work on the form

Yep ,I've got one.But instead of the crescent wrench,I use a Jorgensen wood clamp. God Bless

I always wondered if someone can take a green wet stave, rough it out, and put in a form to make it warp the way they want. Like in this case.

you can take a green stave, rough out seal with shellac, clamp in form, even heat, heating a green stave is like steaming because the water is already in the wood, were just heating it up, ,you have just got to be cautious if you get it to hot it will crack, , the stave would need to be in the form for a month or two, to hold its shape, but if you are going to dry a stave why not dry it in the shape you want
