Ridge runner, those are western cottontails, the one in the picture is a smaller one ;D the smarter ones got away. ;) they will sit under a bush and not move, at the last moment they will blow out and haul bunny butt, hitting one of these guys is a real challenge. Really helps to hone your reflexes and get your snap shooting right on. happy hunting bro, Hawk

Looks like fun times.  I've taken a number of Hares with bows and they are tough little animals, lots of screaming when they are arrowed.  I've cut hearts and half with broadheads and they still keep going and going and going  :).  The bush up here makes it hard to get a shot off at them though

Marc, I just started using. 44mag shell casings, wrap the end of the shaft with artificial sinew, to make the diameter right.. add some pine pitch or ferril tite, heat it up good and press the casing over the sinew... once it hardens they make a real killer rabbit point, they usually die instantly and hardly ever squeal, several I have shot with these arrows took a few steps and just laid down and died... the best thing is the impact is so severe, yet the arrow usually bounces off or only goes in a few inches , so not a lot of blood like broadheads... and no long string of intestines out the exit hole like 38 or 357 casings. I have killed over twenty bunnies so far with the same arrow, I cracked the shaft on this hunt... but she is repaired and ready to go again ;D happy hunting... Hawk

Without her camera, and outdoor skills, I would never be able to share these adventures with fellow brothers and sisters of the bow.Hawk
