Bamboo arrow shafts

I received some bamboo arrow shafts in a trade and am wondering if they need to be sealed or left natural after seasoning and straightening? I mean are they going to soak up water or are they water resistant?

If they are bamboo arrow shafts you may have to seal them. If they are raw bamboo shoots they have a rind on them that makes them more water resistant than most other shoot shafts.
