I've never served the nocks, only the center of the string. I've never had any issues. I also keep my eyes on the string and replace it when I feel at all it is starting to wear too much. Strings are so easy to make, it is no big deal to make a new one.

I use the double loop strings as favourite and I use thin strings. Up to 55lbs I use 10 strands of dacron or 10 Strands of FF (with FF I put 6 extra strands of B50 to the loops). Over 55lbs I use strings with 12 strands up to 70 lbs.

8strands is more than enough for bows below 60pounds, but I'd go a little thicker for comfort. Thin b-50 strings really cut your fingers ;)

b-50 is a nice stringmaterial, as long as you don't go far over 50pounds. Too much drawweight and it just stretches like a rubber band.

I'd rather get some dyneema of FF,,,

I  twist up double loop 15 strand(3ply) of b-50. Mostly for nock fit w/ one layer of #4 serving. I keep the string waxed, especially the loops where there is more wear/contact w/ the nock ends.

A properly built string of B-50 matched to the bow doesn't stretch any worse on a 100# bow than it does in a 50# bow  ::)

I am going to experiment with ten and twelve strand strings. I have heard some good things from guys shooting bows in the 70 pound range.  Mine are all 55 so I am thinking that ten will be good but may add some strands to the loop area and the serving areas to get a better nock fit with my arrows.

I always use 14 strands for bows of around 60#  never had any probs . but I do use flemish twist (i think its called) which i believe to be stonger than a served endless loop type
'expansion and compression'.. the secret of life is to balance these two opposing forces.......
