I'll give it a shot.  It may be a bird point by the time I finish, but I will make one.

ok heres mine, i had a problem with one notch. i couald'nt get it squared in because of a crystal pocket in the notch. you can see how its differnt than the other. this is some high grade c.p. from the east side  ga.  close to the savannah river given to me by willjo on georgia outdoor news forum.  it might look clunky but its sharp with the serrations!  i think i'll make a little knife out of it.

That's a nice'un, looks good to me. Those crystal pockets on the CP can be rough to work around, but looks like you did a good job getting through them and ended up with a nice point.

thanks, you can actually see the pocket in the last pic if you look inside the notch area.  looks like a white spot but its more like a geo.  and this thing glows outside in the sun. i love cp!

CP=Coastal Plains chert.

I'm gonna have to sit this one out...Finally getting my shoulder fixed (they claim) in a few days and I have too much stuff I gotta do before I am limited to only one arm (versus 1 & 1/3...).  I will be watching from the sidelines and typing with one hand.

Good luck Jim, I'm in the same boat going to see a surgeon next week, going to see if he can rebuild my shoulder :-\

Nice point there.  I hope to be able to do a little knapp'n this morning.

Jim, Dana:  Good luck on the shoulders.  Keep us posted on your recovery.

Hey Knap, I've been looking at some of the pictures of the Bolens on the first page of this post, and if you're not happy with the symmetry of your notches, widen the one on the side with the crystal pocket.  The originals seem to have wide notches and I think you can still even them out.

I got to do a little knapp'n this morning.  Made a nice hunting point out of a flake from some of Cowboy's Texas rock and started on my entry for the Bolen out of some Kay County from around Ponca City.  Didn't get to finish it but so far so good.
